Annual Australia’s International Business Survey (AIBS) launched today.

What is the landscape for Australian companies engaged in international business? AIBS 2014/15 will help us uncover it.

The survey aims to provide unique insights into the international business activity of Australian companies. The University of Sydney Business School is conducting this important survey on behalf of the Export Council of Australia (ECA), with the support of Austrade and the Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (Efic).

Building on last year's inaugural survey, this year's survey will help improve industry and government’s understanding of the international activities of Australian companies and provide insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by companies in international markets.

“Good policy requires good information, and a survey like AIBS is an important source of insight into Australia’s international business community,” said Mark Thirlwell, Chief Economist at Austrade

Last year’s survey was the largest of its kind in more than a decade and provided some valuable insights from Australian exporters. “This year we hope to build on those findings. Tracking how responses change over time is a key aspect of this survey so it’s important that we build on the success of last year’s results,” said Efic’s Andrew Watson, Executive Director, SME.

Lisa McAuley, COO at the Export Council of Australia said “Last year’s survey captured data from more than 1,600 companies and this year we are hoping to build on that number."

As the peak body for the export community, we encourage all companies engaged in international business to have their say by participating in this important study,” Ms McAuley said.

Any Australian company involved in international business is encouraged to take part in this 15-minute survey, the results of which will be used to address the needs of businesses and help improve Australia’s international competitiveness.
