The Export Council of Australia (ECA) is excited to announce that the 2015 Premier’s NSW Export Awards program will be launching its first ever award recognizing the success of women led NSW businesses in international markets.
CEO of the Export Council of Australia Lisa McAuley says women are increasingly taking leadership positions in Australia’s global businesses and playing ever more meaningful roles in boosting the state and national economy.
A joint longitudinal survey conducted by Women in Global Business (WIGB) and the University of Melbourne, of over 400 women leaders and decision makers in businesses, highlights a dynamic community of globally minded business women in Australia. The survey found that 81% of female entrepreneurs started exporting in the first 5 years; likewise 51% recorded operating in more than 5 markets and a quarter in more than 10.
“The ECA has had the good fortune of seeing this trend first hand with over 50 years of being the leading authority in export and trade training in Australia and is excited to be able to formally recognize women in global business,” Ms McAuley said.
Applications for the Premier’s NSW Export Awards are now open for applications and we would welcome all NSW’s exporting businesses to apply at www.exportaward.com.au/nsw
