ATT is open to all Australian international businesses from 1 July with expressions of interest to be submitted via our website. No more EOIs will be accepted prior to 1 July.

ATT is a free and voluntary programme. We encourage interested businesses to prepare and ready themselves by becoming familiar with the Customs (Australian Trusted Trader Programme) Rule 2015. The information in the Rule will help you to understand what ATT regards as necessary controls and documentation to be accredited to the programme. In addition, we have dedicated staff available to assist interested businesses through the accreditation process.

ATT was co-designed and developed in partnership with industry and is part of the vision to create a seamless trade experience for Australian Trusted Traders. ATT not only provides physical benefits it gives you the opportunity to work in partnership with the Australian Border Force to test new facilitation initiatives.

It should also be noted, accredited trusted traders do not need to engage accredited service providers to participate in the programme.

Update on recent engagement

First Assistant Secretary Linda Geddes and Director Meg Reid presented at the recent World Customs Organisation (WCO) Global Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) Conference in Cancun, Mexico. The conference provided valuable opportunity to learn about successful programmes across the world and discuss the successes and challenges involved in implementing an AEO programme. The pair spoke about our approach to designing ATT and how we have overcome issues faced along the way. This was well received by the conference and clearly established Australia as a leader in AEO design.

Assistant Secretary Teresa Conolan presented and was part of a panel discussion at the 2016 Australian International Freight Forwarders (AFIF) Conference. Teresa focussed on the progress of the pilot as well as the features and benefits of ATT. Read more here.
